Red & Gold

Red and gold terracotta — the bridal palette, and the one most often ordered for weddings and receptions.

The red is mixed into the clay before firing rather than painted over it, which is why it holds its depth at every bead edge instead of thinning where a brush would have lifted. Red is also one of the stable colours in the kiln, so unlike our teals and blues these fire consistently and we can make them in larger runs. Gold is layered over afterwards and aged, then kemp stones are set by hand.

Choose a haaram length for a boat or open neckline where it has room to fall, and a choker for a high or heavily worked blouse where a long set would disappear. Both sit well against red, maroon and cream silk.
