Care Instructions – Indus Terracotta Jewellery

Our jewellery is handcrafted from natural terracotta and painted/finished by artisans. Terracotta is beautiful but delicate, so proper care is essential to keep your pieces looking their best.

1. Handle with Care

• Always handle your jewellery gently.

• Avoid dropping, bending, or applying pressure – terracotta can chip or break if impacted.

• Put your jewellery on after dressing to avoid snagging on clothes.

2. Keep Away from Water & Chemicals

• Terracotta is not waterproof.

• Remove jewellery before:

  • Showering or bathing

  • Swimming or visiting the spa

  • Exercising or heavy sweating

• Avoid direct contact with:

  • Perfume and deodorant

  • Hair spray and makeup

  • Lotions, oils, and cleaning products

If the piece accidentally gets wet, gently pat dry with a soft cloth and let it air‑dry completely in a shaded area.

3. Storage

• Store pieces in a dry, cool place, away from direct sunlight and humidity.

• Keep each item in a soft pouch or box with padding to prevent scratches and breakage.

• Avoid tossing jewellery into bags or drawers where it can get knocked or crushed.

4. Cleaning

• Use a soft, dry cloth to gently wipe the surface after use.

• Do not use:

  • Water or soaking

  • Chemical cleaners or jewellery dips

  • Abrasive cloths, brushes, or sponges

For dust in small crevices, use a very soft, dry brush lightly.

5. Wearing Guidelines

• Remove your jewellery before:

  • Sleeping

  • Working out or doing sports

  • Housework or lifting heavy items

• Avoid exposing pieces to extreme heat, high humidity, or sudden temperature changes.

6. Natural Variations

Each Indus Terracotta piece is handmade, so slight variations in colour, texture, brush strokes, or shape are normal and part of its character – they are not defects.

7. Damage & Our Policies

Damage caused by drops, impact, water exposure, chemicals, or not following these Care Instructions is considered normal wear and tear and is not eligible for return, replacement, or refund under our Return & Refund Policy.
