A temple set, made light
Indira is finished in antique gold rather than a colour, built in layers and deliberately aged so it sits beside heavy zari without competing with it.
Shaped by hand from natural clay, sun-dried, kiln-fired for eight hours, then painted in successive coats to build the aged tone. Terracotta jewellery throughout — clay, colour and paint, with no stones. Sealed matte, not glossy.
Reads as temple jewellery in photographs at a fraction of the weight, which is the whole argument for terracotta.
Wears well with: Kanjivaram and heavy silk — maroon, bottle green, mustard.
Care: keep out of direct sunlight, which dulls the gold. Dry cloth, cotton pouch.
- Necklace and matching earrings included
- Hand-painted gold detail
- Adjustable cotton dori, fits 14″–26″
- Comes in a cotton pouch and gift box
Looking after terracotta
Wipe gently with a soft dry cloth after wearing. Keep away from water, perfume and hairspray. Store each piece in its own pouch or box so painted surfaces do not rub. Terracotta is fired clay — it is sturdy in daily wear but will not survive a hard drop on stone floors.

Six days, start to finish
Natural river clay is wedged by hand and shaped without moulds, sun-dried for two days, then kiln-fired at high heat for 8 hours. Non-toxic acrylic and metallic paints are applied by hand and kemp stones are set one at a time. No two pieces are identical.
